What is the Take Back program?
Take Back is our way of helping our customers recycle steel and stainless steel Stanley products. Return your eligible products and we'll make sure they are recycled responsibly. For each eligible item, you get a $5 credit at Stanley1913.com. See the Take Back program terms for details.
What geographic locations are included in the program?
Take Back is only available in the Continental United States. Alaska and Hawaii are not included.
What items can I send in?
Take Back accepts all Stanley products in which the main body is steel or stainless steel. Non-Stanley or non-steel items are not accepted. Learn more here.
What happens if I send in something ineligible?
We are unable to return any ineligible items.
What happens to my Stanley product once it’s turned in?
Once received, items are disassembled and recycled responsibly. Non-steel accessories are disposed of responsibly.
I’m ready to recycle my Stanley product. How do I get it to you?
You can ship via USPS using the provided label, or drop it off at a partner drop point with your QR code.
What kind of discount do I receive?
Each eligible item gives a $5 discount at Stanley1913.com, up to four per year. A $5 donation is also made per item. See Take Back program terms for details.
How do I start the process of recycling my Stanley product?
Create an account at Stanley1913.com or log in. Learn more about recycling.
How many items can I send in?
Maximum of 4 eligible items per calendar year, each giving a $5 discount code (up to $20 total per year).
What will the donation to Ocean Conservancy be used for?
The donation supports Ocean Conservancy's ongoing programs. Learn more at oceanconservancy.org.
